Britney Colorado

Britney serves as the Senior Boot Camp Coordinator at Be A Leader, where she supports high school seniors transitioning into post-secondary education and into the College Success Program, which continues to offer students educational and career development support to help them attain their degrees. In her role, she facilitates senior workshops, activities, and one-on-one mentoring with students, and provides them with the tools and resources necessary to succeed in the competitive environment of college admissions.
Britney’s journey with Be A Leader began in 2018, when she participated in the SBC program as a senior. Throughout college, she worked part-time as a College Success Navigator, assisting students with their FAFSA and college applications. She also worked as an administrative assistant with the nonprofit organization Creciendo Unidos, where she supported Spanish-speaking families in workshops that prioritized leadership, mental health, and family values. In 2023, she joined the team full-time as the SBC Coordinator, continuing to guide and support students on their path to higher education.
Britney graduated summa cum laude from Grand Canyon University in December 2022, earning a BS in Criminal Justice Studies with a minor in Psychology. Born in Sonora, Mexico, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she migrated with her family at the age of seven in search of better opportunities. Throughout her educational journey, she recognized the significant obstacles that students—particularly those who are undocumented or not U.S. citizens—face in pursuing higher education. Overcoming those obstacles herself ignited her passion for creating equitable pathways to higher education for all, regardless of legal status. She is dedicated to advocating for her students and her community, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to access and achieve their educational dreams.
