Alejandro Manriquez

Alejandro was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, with deep roots in Morelos, Mexico, where he spent many of his childhood summers. Growing up in an immigrant household, he experienced firsthand the challenges and resilience that define so many working-class families. His parents built something out of nothing, and their strength continues to inspire his passion for community work.
He graduated from Shadow Mountain High School in 2020 and began his college journey at Arizona State University with an initial interest in politics. Over time, he realized that real change often begins within the community, not just at the Capitol. This realization led him to shift his focus to the nonprofit sector, where he earned a degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management, along with a Nonprofit Professional Certification.
Since May 2024, Alejandro has worked at the Be A Leader Foundation, where he supports first-generation and low-income students in preparing for post-secondary success.
His passion lies in serving Hispanic and low-income communities and advocating for those often overlooked by systems not built for them. He is committed to closing opportunity gaps and challenging systemic oppression by helping build stronger pathways for the next generation.
