Alyssa Guerra

Alyssa Guerra is the West Valley High School Coordinator for the Be A Leader Foundation. Alyssa is passionate about showing students resources available to help them succeed.
Alyssa is a first-generation college student that has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Arizona State University (ASU). She also has completed an Associate in Arts, Associate in General Studies, and a Certificate of Completion in Chicano Studies from Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC). During her time at EMCC, Alyssa was a member of the Honors Program as well as Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. Additionally, Alyssa was a student in the Barrett’s Honors College at ASU.
Prior to being a College Access Coordinator, Alyssa was a College Advisor with the Be A Leader Foundation. Additionally, Alyssa previously worked with AmeriCorps to implement and facilitate a summer STEM program to prevent summer learning loss at the local Boys and Girls Club (BGC). After working with AmeriCorps, she worked to create events with the local BGC and local community college to teach students about financial aid, available programs, and local resources.
During her free time, Alyssa enjoys painting, wood carving, and watching Netflix. She also enjoys drinking coffee while sitting on the porch with her dog Lilly.
