Janiel Fonseca joined the team at Be A Leader in June 2024 as the West Valley College Access Coordinator. He is responsible for supporting the club network for schools in the West Valley districts. Janiel also manages the 9th-grade cohort for the College Bound Leaders workshop program, which helps students build their toolkit of college-going resources, connections, and leadership skills.

Janiel was born and raised in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. In 2020, he made the jump to leave his hometown to pursue a degree at Arizona State University. Moving to the Phoenix metropolitan area was a huge culture shock for him, and it deepened his commitment to pursuing a career that allows him to better his community. As a first-generation student, Janiel truly believes that mentorship and college-access resources can go a long way in helping students reach their educational goals.

After graduating from ASU in the spring of 2024, Janiel had a quick turnaround in joining the mission at the Be A Leader Foundation. He continues to look for opportunities to engage with his community and provide meaningful resources for students pursuing higher education.
