Jonathan Yamasaki

Jonathan Yamasaki is an untiring advocate for higher education and a young professional beginning his journey in the nonprofit sector. He is currently developing The College Success Program at the Be A Leader Foundation. His role as a College Success Coordinator is to support college students through professional & leadership development workshops, semester check-ins, and success coaching. In 2017, Jonathan graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Business Administration as a first-generation college graduate. One of his biggest accomplishments at NAU was co-founding a multicultural co-ed fraternity; Daleth Phi Aleph. During his time at NAU, Jonathan was an Ambassador for the W. A. Franke College of Business where he assisted students in finding on-campus resources to succeed in college. Jonathan also brings his experience in working and participating in a multitude of Leadership Development programs, such as the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) internship and as a lead mentor in the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s Youth Leadership Institute.

Ultimately, Jonathan’s goals and aspirations are to influence the government, public and private sectors, and NGOs to work collaboratively on establishing higher college graduation rates in Arizona and the nation. On what platform one may ask? Through all facets of his personal and professional life. When Jonathan is not meeting with students, you can find him in the evenings singing karaoke, playing video games with friends, or working on his podcast “Go Entrepreneur Yourself.”
