Laila Sarah
Laila shares the Be a Leader Foundation vision that all students have the opportunity to succeed in higher education and obtain the skills and resources to ensure their success. Prior to coming to Be a Leader, Laila was at Arizona State University where she was Assistant Director at ASU’s Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology, overseeing delivery of multiple STEM grants which included school partnerships, outreach and recruitment, curriculum development and teacher training for all programs.
Prior to that, Laila was an Executive Coordinator at ACCESS ASU. She has worked as a Career Specialists & teacher in the Peoria Unified District. Earlier in her career, Laila gained experience in community organizing and mobilizing across the state of Arizona. Laila holds a B.A. in Communication from The University of Arizona and a Masters in Administration and Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Laila is thrilled join Be a Leader to serve as the Project Director for the Arizona Network for School Improvement Grant, as this is a role that aligns her passion, skillset and vision of creating a stronger Arizona.
