Soilo J. Felix

Soilo Felix assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer at the Be A Leader Foundation (BALF) in Phoenix, AZ, in April 2022. With over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management, leadership, and youth development, he brings a wealth of expertise to his position. Soilo began his journey with Be A Leader in 2013 as their Program Director, and he later served as their Chief Program and Chief Operation Officer before stepping into his current role.

As a first-generation college graduate, Soilo is deeply committed to advocating for fellow first-generation students and championing equitable access to education. His dedication lies in cultivating supportive environments where students not only thrive but also realize their aspirations of obtaining a college education.

Prior to his tenure at Be A Leader, Soilo served as the Director of Community Engagement Programs at the Arizona Science Center. Before that, he dedicated twelve years to a local youth and teen development organization, where he played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive educational and technology program strategy. During his time at the Boys & Girls Clubs, Soilo forged strategic partnerships in areas like distance learning and Tele-Presence technologies. He actively participated in initiatives such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Latino Leadership Project and is a distinguished member of the Academy of Boys & Girls Clubs Professionals.

Soilo earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Arizona State University and is a member of Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Inc. He remains deeply involved with the fraternity, having served on the National Board of Directors since 2003 and currently holding the position of Chairman of the Board since 2005. He has also participated in various community leadership programs, including Valle Del Sol’s Hispanic Leadership Institute in 2015, Valley Leadership Advance (2016), and Valley Leadership Institute’s Class 39.

Soilo, along with his wife, Amy, and their daughter Zoë, call midtown Phoenix their home.
